About Lake Eildon Holidays.
Lake Eildon Holidays is a "Boutique" style hire houseboat business operating two
houseboats. One boat is named "Getaway" while the second one is named "Spoil Yourself".
They have four cabins each and feature generous size saloons and large sundecks surrounded by "child proof" handrails plus twin four stroke outboard motors for
brilliant handling and outstanding economy.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS.
Lake Eildon is very scenic drive of just over one hour
from Lilydale in Melbourne's Northeast on the Maroondah
Highway. Under two hours from Campbellfield in the North on the
Hume Freeway via Yea and three hours drive from Albury/Wodonga.
Jerusalem Creek is just a few kilometres from the Eildon township on the Eastern arm of Lake Eildon.
That's it, no connections to make, no trains or planes to catch
and most important of all, no delays. All this means a houseboat
holiday is a very easy and affordable break.
A houseboat
holiday is not expensive when compared to most other travel
options. A
pull-out boarding plank is fitted at
the front of both boats which skids back under
the front deck when not in use ... it's all very
easy.
The front
decks all feature a gas BBQ and a very large fibreglass ice box
... very necessary items for a good Houseboat Holiday.
There is a wide gate at the
rear of the lower deck providing access from the rear lower
deck down to the "speed boat friendly" swimming or ski
platform. A built-in swimming ladder is provided so you can easily
climb back on board after that refreshing swim or ski.
A
staircase from the rear deck leads up to the magnificent top deck
or "sun deck" area complete with outdoor table and chairs.

Getaway (and
Spoil Yourself) both have four seperate cabins. Two cabins have a
double bed in each plus a fold down overhead bunk. The other two
cabins are equipped with twin bunks in each while there are two
convertable settees in the lounge area ... plus ... we've provided
plenty of storage space in each cabin to help you enjoy your
Houseboat Holiday.
Not only that ... you will save space in
your car because you won't need to pack bulky doonas, blankets and pillows ... we provide
them all for your comfort and convenience. 
The twelve passengers the boats are licensed to carry are comfortably accomodated and the fact is you're sure to enjoy a refreshing sleep
in any of the beds, bunks or settee's no matter where you decide to crash.
Jerusalem Creek on Lake Eildon is not far distant from most population
centres within Victoria so travelling costs are low. The cost of
hiring a houseboat can be shared amongst those on board which
could number up to twelve people. When this amount is further
divided by the number of nights spent on board you begin to
realise how affordable a houseboat holiday really is.
A
Houseboat Holiday on any of our boats will not cost a fortune for
fuel either ... we've taken care of all that.
Both
Getaway and Spoil Yourself are powered by twin 15
horsepower four stroke Mercury outboard motors so you can depend
on reliable power, maximum economy, great "user friendly" handling
and low noise level ... it doesn't get any better than that.
A 240 volt generator driven by another economical
engine is provided on both boats to power the on board
appliances. The generator automatically charges your 12 volt
system whenever it's operating ... but that's only a "back up"
system as the solar panels take care of that
for you ... free and in complete silence.
Do remember to
bring a hair dryer plus your favourite C.D's and D.V.D's on your houseboat Holiday though.
Most people store fillets of fresh fish in the ice box until the
chef is ready to prepare a succulent mouth watering meal on the
Barbeque.

The top deck is an ideal viewing platform from which to
admire the stunning scenery both on and surrounding Lake Eildon
... the houseboat capital of Australia. A portable outdoor setting
is also provided so you can relax under the sun block canopy which
covers part of the top deck if you prefer.
The sun
canopies are fitted with coloured bud lights which compliment the
safety lighting on the handrails.Together they cast a pleasant
glow ... ready for the party after the sun sets and the moon
rises.
